Making Music on Your Wedding Day
They came and they were smittened, not only by the 4 piece jazz fusion band but also by the very accomplished young solo violinist, Dennis Lau from Mosaic Music Entertainment. The Wedding Hub organised a workshop on wedding music, Making Music on Your Wedding Day on Sunday afternoon, 25 May 2008. It was definitely one of the most entertaining workshops that we have had at the Wedding Hub as participants got to listen to a live violinist, band and singer, all on that very afternoon.
It is not everyday that wedding couples get to sit up close and have trial live music performed especially for them before deciding to hire music entertainers for their reception. More so, when couples shop for suitable wedding entertainment, they will only be shown sample videos or songs that have been played at other wedding receptions or functions. So the Wedding Hub decided to go a step further and provide an opportunity to workshop participants to experience and listen up close to real music by inviting Dennis to conduct a workshop.
Dennis and his talented band entertained participants with beautiful jazz numbers, some classical pieces, ballads and upbeat tunes that got some of us tapping our feet, singing along as well as clapping our hands. Those who attended the workshop got the privilege to learn from Dennis on how to differentiate between classical, jazz and pop music, what to expect when coordinating music for their wedding day and down to the type of music instruments used for wedding entertainment. Also being a music teacher himself, Dennis was ever ready to share his knowledge about music with the workshop participants.
